Windows 11 and JW Library and the ONLY Fix

If you have been reading this blog then you are aware that I have tried EVERYTHING to get JW Library running properly on Windows 11 22H2. As a Microsoft Developer I reached out to Microsoft and sent them everything I had discovered, yet JW Library will still not run properly on Windows 11 22H2.


I had Windows 11 Pro on my Surface and Windows 11 Home on my Acer desktop. I did manage to get JW Library running on Windows 11 Home, but with bugs. Glitches if you will. 


However nothing I did would get JW Library working on my Windows 11 Pro Surface. I could not update any jwpub files. The JW Library was a purple brick on my tablet.


So after about a year of banging my head on the bricks I did the only logical thing. I mean it's not about having the latest Operating System, but it's about having the JW Library WORK!.

So I backed up all my data on my Surface and Acer, then on both did a reinstall of Windows 10, yep that is correct Windows 10. It was the only logical solution to get the JW Library working. If you do choose to return to Windows 10, back up the JW Library and all your personal data, do a clean install of Windows 10, run the updates, and start the fun of reinstalling all your personal data.

In the end on my Surface and Acer I am now able to use the JW Library without grinding my teeth.

Microsoft just missed the mark with Windows 11 22H2.
