If the NFL adopts a zero policy toward spousal abuse and child abuse it may be the end of the NFL. If you look at the stats of arrested NFL players that have been charged with beating on family members then a large part of them will be out of the NFL, leaving too few on the field.
The NFL will not address this issue with seriousness because they fear the loss of too many players. For too long the NFL has ignored what they have known and turned a blind eye toward the abuse these players are doing. Not all players are guilty but there are enough that if they benched every abuser it will have too huge of an impact on the field and the money the NFL brings in.
So the NFL will in the end of these current cases save face and sacrifice a small few but continue to ignore the greater issue for the sake of money, children and women will continue to suffer so the NFL can bring in money and keep abusers on the field.
