Anyway the Cherokee Heritage emailed my some forms to complete, and I will.
I could not figure out why, Aden, Albert, Willis and Winnie Wimpy were all listed as white in the census. In 1830 and in 1880 it was clear the family was on Cherokee lands and even more so that they were NOT white. As I mentioned I have been in contact with the Cherokee Nation. As it turns out, white men took the census and white men entered the data. These census takers were instructed to mark indians as white. So using Google I was searching ancestry.com forums, yes you can read some content without an account, and saw some of my family looking for info on the Wimpy's as well as Wimpiy's searching. No one really finding much because of the Wimpy's being marked as white when they are Cherokee. Another flaw in ancestry.com. The basic $19.99 account gives you two things, 1) access to foruns 2) access to census data, both are free everywhere else. To do meaningful research you need the $199.99 account and then ancestry.com wants you to turn over all your info for free and they in turn sell it to others, Mormans sure are turning a buck on that scam. I think it sad because their site data is incorrect at the $19.99 price point and misleading people, in hopes of squeezing the higher price.
