"Unfortunately your wife's situation with this particular insurance company is the majority of it's members. More than likely your wife's benefits were never in a "suspended" status but have remained inactive. The benefits are only the tip of the iceberg and I strongly suggest that you call the marketplace while you still have a chance to enroll with a different insurance carrier. It seems as though her healthcare needs are worth swallowing the extra cost of BCBS and knowing that when she shows up to the pharmacy she will in fact have insurance that will cover her needs as she has paid for.
Also she has a 90 day grace period as a marketplace member before she can be cancelled and a minimum of 10 day grace period after the 1st of the month that Community Health Alliance acknowledges or at least that's the information as it was said.
The company is quickly deteriorating due to very poor management and lack of overall leadership. It's a shame because this company could have had a better opportunity with the right people in place. As I said the issues at hand have not improved in the 3 months and you should save yourself the headache consider your wife's overall well being and call the marketplace to change her insurance. There is a special enrollment period available now to be able to do this.
Also consider, you may be saving lives by reporting this insurance company to the marketplace and beyond."
