I tried to post a review on Philips site about their 5,000 series Android TV that can be bought through Walmart, however Philips did not approve my review, it was too honest. So I will write a review here. The TV itself is well worth the price. The biggest negative is the fact that within the TV Apps they do not have the JW Broadcasting app. So even if you buy the Android TV you must also still use a Roku to watch and use some Apps, including Amazon Prime. The other negative feature is how their external drive system works. DO NOT copy any video, audio or photo files to a drive and then connect it to the TV. The TV must format the drive to it's file structure. Then once done the file size is limited. I have many MKV files that are over 3GB and that size is too big for the file structure of the drive that the Philips TV uses. So it is a very big negative. |
So for the time until Philips works out the bugs and greediness of making the customer pay for their poor judgement I would suggest passing on this TV.
