Back to the Dell Venue. I sold it on eBay and buyer had to return, screen frooze on reset. Got it and using a dongle my friend was able to complete reset. On March 1st Dell released a BIOS update, perhaps in responce to my earlier post, the update was applied and the Dell Tablet with Windows 10 worked fine...until. With Windows 10 Microsoft is forcing all updates, no choice. After the Dell Venue is reset Microsoft update is force updating the chipset drivers, it is those drivers that is the source of the IRQ crashes.
Without the Windows 10 chipset update the Dell Venue works excellent, its fast, its power managment works, the power button works. After Windows update installs the new chipset drivers the whole tablet stops functioning correctly. Power managment issues, app crashes, power button failures. My friend is now seeking a way to disallow the install of drivers from Windows update. To Dell: for the sake of the company and your reputation find a way to prevent Microsoft from installing drivers that it feels work better. Windows is uninstalling the Dell OEM chipset and installing its own chipset. The Microsoft chipset is crashing the Dell Venues, this will in turn cause more than an 8% customer return rate. When I worked at Dell I remember the power meetings, An 8% failure rate was the maximum, you will exceed that with the Venue, if you have not already, if you allow Microsoft to continue to override OEM drivers To Microsoft: It amazes me that in your presumption that you feel Microsoft drivers are better than OEM drivers. I have rolled back several Windows 10 installs due to this issue. Windows 10 is uninstalling OEM printer and video drivers. Now Microsoft update is uninstalling Dell Venue OEM chipset drivers. You are going to cause you own death with forced updates on Windows 10. It may not appear that way right now, but in the field tech world the handwriting is on the wall.
