"“Well, like I told you, I was sold and bought many times by different people and for different reasons. There were other kids being bought and sold as well. Some of us were sold in groups. The more times we were sold the lesser value we had. They called us ‘spent kids’. So as we were sold more often, the groups of us got bigger in hopes of bringing in more money. Some of the people that bought us in groups of spent kids bought us not for the same reasons that we were sold for in the beginning. But they bought us for parts. I learned from those people that body parts are worth a lot of money. So the last owner that bought me, bought me with a large group of kids of all different ages, all of us was spent kids. They kept us in a large room, no beds. But it had running water and was heated. We got one blanket for every two kids. So I had to share a blanket with another boy, sharing also kept us warmer at night. It was this last owner that took all my clothes and gave me the blue pair of shorts.” Nathan paused for a moment to gather his thoughts.
“So why take your clothes? That makes no sense” Mark asked. "
