Cj's Gardening for Spring

All this is in most part done by my wife. I have done a few things. I did set up the door. She is far from done and I will continue to update. Since we rent the cottage and do not own it she planted the bulbs in post so we can take them with us if we ever should move.

1st #Covid19 Vaccine Shot

3/4/2021

(If you object to the content on this site or my thoughts please leave and do not read it. It's that simple)

On March 3rd 2021 I got my first #Covid19 vaccine shot. In the beginning when the mRNA vaccine was developed I was very concerned because it was encoded in synthetic RNA. But then my aunt and uncle got Covid. My aunt suffered lifelong nerve damage, my uncle...he lingered for weeks and weeks in severe pain, then died alone, in a cold hospital. I was getting text updates nearly everyday and it altered my thinking and view. At one point he woke up and had no memories, then fell into a coma and lingered.

Everyday after that I would have the thought cross my mind, "is today my day to get the Covid and die like my uncle?" I would watch my wife of over 33 years and dread dying alone, apart from her. I also thought about the pain I would encounter and how it would in a very real way eat my lungs. To tell you the truth I was fearful of Covid and getting it. Everyday I woke up I also thought "just get it and get it over with. If it kills you it kills you." I am not afraid of death, I am fearful of the intensity of the pain, but more so of dying alone and without my wife. I told her this morning I do not know if I could draw a breath if you died before me and I hope if we do ever die we die together. So my personal views of the vaccine changed.

When the Johnson & Johnson vaccine hit the market I knew I had to get the existing vaccine, I in no way wanted the J&J. All vaccines must have a carrier, the current Covid vaccines use an mRNA as the carrier, the J&J uses DNA and that DNA comes from stem cells of aborted fetuses. I do not in any way support abortion and for me accepting the J&J vaccine would be supporting the source and means it was developed and delivered.

Then in Tennessee group 1c became eligible to sign up. I'm 1c. Of course it was not to start until Monday the 8th but my area had the supply so they started early. I got my 1st shot. I had no ill effects whatsoever.

After the attendants left my car I sat there and realized what had just happened. I felt "free" in a manner of speaking. I felt as if a darkness had lifted off of me. I did not feel downhearted, defeated, and I thought of my uncle, just a few weeks later and he would have had his had one person worn their mask. As the day progressed I felt happier, and then something hit me, something I had not been aware of, I did not feel the same stress levels. My stress level had just plummeted. Then this morning, I woke up happy, I simply could not believe how much pressure had been removed from a simple shot. My entire mindset had been altered. So in a way I suppose the mRNA vaccine does alter you. It restores a feeling of wellbeing, hope that you can survive Covid and lowers stress.

Philips Android Google TV - Review

I tried to post a review on Philips site about their 5,000 series Android TV that can be bought through Walmart, however Philips did not approve my review, it was too honest.

So I will write a review here.

The TV itself is well worth the price. The biggest negative is the fact that within the TV Apps they do not have the JW Broadcasting app. So even if you buy the Android TV you must also still use a Roku to watch and use some Apps, including Amazon Prime. The other negative feature is how their external drive system works. DO NOT copy any video, audio or photo files to a drive and then connect it to the TV. The TV must format the drive to it's file structure. Then once done the file size is limited. I have many MKV files that are over 3GB and that size is too big for the file structure of the drive that the Philips TV uses. So it is a very big negative.

Picture
However the greatest and most frustrating negative is the remote. The remote has a lag, you press a button and the TV does NOT respond for a second or 2, the lag is enough to make you believe that it did not work so you press again. The button layout is also very poorly designed. If you press the volume down it is close enough on the pressure pad that the option button is pressed and you end up in a different input mode or channel. At time pressing a button will cause a different press and something very unexpected happens. Now Philips is very well aware of this and has a replacement remote but they want the customer to PAY for it. They were very happy to send me one, even with proof of purchase, as long as I bought it. Granted they are fully aware of the faulty shipped with TV remote.

So for the time until Philips works out the bugs and greediness of making the customer pay for their poor judgement I would suggest passing on this TV.

Star Trek Discovery Season 3

So back when Star Trek Discovery aired I gave it a try, but it was too dark, violent and too openly homosexual. So I stopped watching it. Now I'm a Star Trek TOS kid. I grew up watching it on Friday nights in rerun during the early 1970's, and I learned every detail. When it first aired Discovery was not Star Trek. So a few months ago on my Google News Feed I happened to read a short article that basically Discovery was to be rebooted. I read with keen interest how the crew was to be propelled into the future. I started watching again. I was surprised at how back to the basic concept of Star Trek they went. And I do hope they leave it to the audience to determine who has a relationship with whom.

But after episode 4 when the Discovery crew finds Starfleet headquarters something shocking occurred to me; are we really watching Star Trek? Let me take you back to that episode.

Starfleet and the Federation is no longer based on Earth, but in a warped bubble of protection, the remaining ships is a rag-tagged collection of what was left of Starfleet and are now traveling through space looking for not only Federation survivors of the burn but a new home.

Are you with me 1970's Battlestar
Galacatica fans?

Now; no more 5 year mission, but a collection of rag-tag ships traveling the galaxy looking for more of their own and a new home. Now get this remember the Terran (I don't know all their names yet) shorted out the AI interviewers? She also kept asking who the guy with glasses was that controlled them. My my do you see it? He's will turn out to be an internal threat that he and his AI's will be kicked out and they will form their own "race" "By Your Command" and then try to destroy the remaining Federation. Just wait.

But the burn, I think that is an easy see. The song showing up throughout the galaxy and so many know it...well it may turn out to be a hidden code that fractured
Dilithium and caused the burn. Far fetched? No remember music is noting but math set to frequencies that sound good. So those same math frequencies can be structured in such a way that a binary code can be determined and infect computers that are activated by audio. When the music is played a ship is infected and in turn the dilithium burn. I would think the Klingon version is a bit different.

So the reboot of Star Trek Discovery Season 3 is also a reboot of Battlestar Galacatica, I just really do hope they do not use the glass wearing guy as the leader of a breakaway AI race that wants to destroy the rag-tag fleet searching for a new home, I hope his name is not Baltar; and I hope the music is not the cause of the burn.

Results of CDC Eviction Restrictions

11/13/2020

The #CDC imposed restrictions on landlords across the country to prevent evictions. The goal was to limit the spread of #CVOID19. These restrictions however have resulted in a number of EXPECTED outcomes.
1) By restricting evictions some renters whose income was not affected stopped paying rent knowing they could not be evicted.
2) Due to restrictions on evictions landlords took the brunt of delayed payments on mortgages. It is logical to leave a single payment in the hands of a single renter then putting 10's if not 100's of missed payments in the hands of one.

3) The DHS of Crossville posted on LSN (now removed) that landlords were greedy and could afford to let people live rent free. Of course they lacked understanding that some renters that stopped paying rent were never affected by a loss of income.
4) A great power shift occurred. Renters became aware that nothing they do will lead to an eviction and landlords became powerless to do anything once a renter started destroying a place.

Below are photos of an apartment at 401-D Clark Livingston TN 38570. Over a period of 1 month the renters did this damage and they lived in ankle deep raw sewage. This was the 2nd time the renters had destroyed the grinder/pump, the landlord had no power to evict for what was thousands of dollars in damage. After the second time the landlord delayed the repair hoping the renters would move. The renters moved out November 1, however no repair or clean up work has started. The renters in apartment C are also taking advantage of the eviction restrictions, the photos of the trash is theirs. The trash has resulted in infestation of roaches, mice and other pest. The smell of raw sewage fills the air and my sons apartment upstairs. Begging the landlord to move forward has resulted in nothing, calling the health department, nothing, reporting it nothing.

it is my belief that the landlord is hopeful that the renters in C will give up and move. I do not foresee that, they were all homeless prior to renting the apartment and living filth is better than the street.

However in the meantime those renters in the surrounding homes and apartments have to endure the smell, the mice, roaches, and did I mention the smell?

We pay our rent on time every month as does our son. We tend to the basic upkeep without asking for reimbursement. However if we complain too much a suggestion to move is made. This in the tub is raw sewage and the small fills the upstairs apartment where my son lives and at times you can't be outside. This is now the 7th weeks this has remained like this and nothing is getting down or looks like it will get done anytime soon.
