I will start out by simply suggesting that you skip this rebranded Nokia 3.1. While Nokia did increase the storage and memory and screen size, it is still very slow.
Some positive points, it has a 32GB internal storage, it has 2GB RAM and it has a 5.5 screen size, but that is all that is impressive. Tapping the home button does not not get a quick response. In fact, every tap has a 1 to 2 second delay, those seconds add up very fast. When you tap the home button on some apps the delay can be as long as 5 seconds and this can be very frustrating. It also appears that in some cases when you tap the home button the fone was not able to understand what you did. It will open an app or something else may happen. To close apps you flick up from the bottom, but this action also has a long delay and you will tend to flick again which 2 flicks brings up the all app menu. A single flick is supposed to bring up the close options, but it does not always work, I think the fone is waiting to see if you flick again. Android Auto is a pain. Since Android Auto requires several apps to run, once they all open (this can take up to 3o seconds) the fone is sluggish and slow. But then after disconnecting Android Auto is even a greater challenge. Even with the car turned off you can't close out Android Auto , the fone will reopen it several times. I have used Samsung and LG fones with Android Auto and never had them reopen the app after I disconnected. If several apps are open the fone is very slow and the delay gets longer and longer as more apps are open or remain open. Contacts has only 2 display options. I have 3 Google accounts and on my Samsung and LG I can merge them in the fone, however the Nokia has either view 1 account or all, no merge option, and no transfer options. The settings menu is cumbersome and many features are not even to be found. My ringtone and notifications for text continues to reset to the factory setting or Nokia. and there is no notification only slid volume, it is either "Do No Disturb" or set the ringtone as vibrate only. Overall it appears Nokia is forcing it's OEM options on the user, and the fone, like it 3.1 father is slow and sluggish, it is not worth the money, if it were not for Pie I would not keep it but my Android Auto needs Pie. I do intend to see if I can buy a Samsung, go back to something that works. |
