I am enrolled but I believe I will opt out after reading this. They charge and now are giving away my work.
No one was looking,
No one saw it happen,
The world slept on,
The changes were set,
And the beast crept in.
The beast exposed you,
No longer were your secrets your secrets.
No place safe,
The beast took it all,
When it changed its call,
The beast stole our right,
The beast crept through night.
Recently #ebay altered its #TOS on the use of its website under cover of the split with #Paypal. @ebay altered several key important privacy issues. The most debasing is the right of a user to delete their #ebay search history. When I first became aware of this I was sure that there was an error. However the more I dug the worse it got. #Internet forums are alight with questions, hopes and workarounds. None of them useful.
Why is this concerning?
The search/buying history is splashed on the users #ebay landing page after they log in. This can easily be seen by anyone anywhere the user may log in.
So why is this important?
Given there are some who may be embarrassed if their search history was ever seen. Many use @ebay to purchase #medical aids they would never buy in public. Some may be embarrassed by some items they must purchase due to culture. But the greatest issue that was replete in many #forums was a sharing factor. I will use my case. My wife and I share my #ebay account, most of the time she emails me the link of the item she wants, however sometimes she logs into my account. So now the problem. Recently I purchased a gift for my wife, a really nice two tone tablet cover. Now I do not want this #gift to be know to her. But if she were to log into my #ebay account right now she would see what I searched for on my @ebay landing page. But even if she did not hit the landing page the search history follows you throughout your visit on the left hand side.
Many of the people in forums (many @ebay controlled forums) expressed grave concern over the history, gift buying and sharing accounts. Many were concerned about upcoming #birthdays #Christmas and other events. In reply, some of those posters were encourged to tell their other family members to create their own accounts. Some of this advice was posted by insiders at @ebay. Interesting, is this an attempt by #ebay to create more accounts?
I think it abhorrent on the part of @ebay that they have stripped the #rights of the @ebay community to control the history of their own accounts. I think what may happen is @ebay will loose accounts, not gain them.
Shame on #ebay.
One of my past #abusers in #Houston is very well known.
Recently it was suggested to me that I out him. It was suggested that in light of Steven #Collins, Bill #Cosby and others that I should, after all it will give others the courage to come forward.
There in is an issue.
When the lawyer that obtained the court order to publish the Boy #Scouts #pedophile list won and then published that list I was upset. At first I thought the names of the abused boys would be on that list, I thought my name would be on it since I was a Cub Scout and then a Boy Scout and sexually abused as both. I downloaded the list and noticed no names of #abused #boys were on the list so I was relieved. My point, I don't want to expose my abusers for many reasons, none of which are to protect them. I will explain.
1) Many of my abusers are dead and dust. Exposing them will accomplish nothing, but it will hang an Albatross about the necks of their #children and grandchildren. Why should the next generation pay for the sins of the father?
2) I am not interested in a settlement of money, I would have to sue the Boy Scouts, the Catholic Church and one other large corporation, (I am not going to name). Doing that would take too much time of my life and I would have to listen to defense #lawyers call me a lier. I don't desire that.
3) The damage is done. Will exposing my past abusers fix me? Make me like I was before the first case of abuse at age 6? No. Nothing in this time will give me back what was stolen. I have also managed to confront some of my abusers, the reaction I got was far from expected. The most common reaction was "you asked for it" they would then add their preverted reasoning. So why endure that?
Some have suggested that me exposing so-and-so in Houston will give others the courage to come forward.
Let me say this, the first one through the wall is bloody and broken, the rest just walk through. I know many will object to this but the fact is only the first person to come forward has courage, it takes little courage to walk behind someone taking all the fire. History does not recall the second line in battle, only those that were first and broke the ranks of the enemy. My point, if I were to expose the man in Houston there might be others who would then step up on my body and come forward, but they did not do it of their own courage. I mean no disrespect but in the end courage comes from within not from someone else.
#ATT recently bought #DirecTV. I have been getting emails from DirecTV since I have it. So now I can look forward to bill cramming, monthly changes in my bill, frequent sudden changes in my contract, and decreases in my monthly TV bandwidth allotment. Ya!
Somethings been bugging me. Everytime #nc5 runs a story about this or that company removing artificial ingredients, or making their food healthy, or they mention another restaurant going to a healthy menu they say "another xxxx getting on the bandwagon." Seriously? By 2016 under the Healthcare Act those companies that produce food have to remove all ingredients that can cause serious sickness or death. Also all restaurants must do the same but they must post the fat and calories in food, now sugars. If a company/restaurant does not comply they have to pay an extra tax that they can't pass on to me and you. So in short part of the Healthcare Act was designed to force American companies to produce better and healthy food. Some items used in food was banned outright. Saturated Fat and others. The corn industry faught hard to keep HFCS, but those companies that use it have to pay the tax. A percentage per item.
Recently I read the US Constitution again, but this time I read the amendments that did not pass or was not added. Two caught my interest.
One was ERA proposed in the 1970's. I was surprised to learn it never was ratified, it never passed, so now I have to give up my seat on the lifeboat.
The second was an extension of an Article. In one Article it states that no elected offical may accept a title of nobility, or a title such as kink, prince, knight. Well Congress proposed that no citizen of America be allowed to accept a title of nobility as well. And if a citizen ever did their citizenship shall be stripped and they are to be removed from the county. Well it was put before the states and 2/3 passed it, it was ratified. When it went back to Congress and they were considering it someone made mention of the fact that Esquire is a title of nobility, the ratified amendment was never added. Why? Because every lawyer upon graduation gets the title of esquire, if congress added this it would mean that dvery lawyer would lose their citizenship.
This is a very good example of the change of thinking in America on religion. But fair is fair, tax-exempt status was never part of the Articles or the 1st amendment to the Constitution. In fact the amendment to form the IRS did not come about until after the 1900's and long after that tax-exempt status. Nevertheless is it a sharp change in the thinking of America.
